Welcome new members - Gary Mellas and Eli Kraft
Tom Pafford's shop in Madison Heights, VA
Main Events: Purfling and end wedge
Binding, purfling, end wedge
We planned to get the top and back purfling, the end wedge, and the binding (side purfling attached) glued in. We didn't get to the binding because we had to fix an issue with the purfling.
First we put on two light coats of shellac to prevent grain tear out from the tape used in holding the purfling/binding in place.

In his own words:
My first guitar building project is a classical guitar.
It has Rosewood back and sides, Engelmann Spruce soundboard and a Spanish Cedar neck.
A pipe and torch were used to bend the sides.
The thickness of the soundboard is 2.5mm in the center to about 2.1mm around the perimeter.
Making my own forms and jigs has been helpful in enhancing my wood working skills.
It has been an enjoyable and rewarding experience watching the small pile of lumber being transformed into a guitar.
I plan to complete it in January. Can't wait to test it out.
